Editing for Copywriters
As a former attorney, my attention to detail means I’ll spot all those little mistakes that you are just too close to the project to see.
And as a copywriter, I know when you need to break the rules to nail brand voice, conversion, or voice of customer.
Developmental edits
If you’re struggling with the format or flow of your argument, you might need someone to look at your first draft.
A big-picture edit works on content and clarity, with a guaranteed second edit to polish
Line edits
This is where we focus on voice and the detail of word choice, repetitiveness, and the flow sentence to sentence. Can be done with a developmental edit or with a copy edit.
Copy Edits
This is what you probably imagined when you came looking for an editor! Make sure your work is polished and free of typos, grammar problems, and punctuation issues.

Pricing – it can be tricky
I know, I know. You want me to give you a nice easy cost per page.
I want to do that too, believe me. It would make things sooooo much easier.
But I can’t. This work depends on a lot of variables, like how much editing is involved, how much input you need, and how much work you need me to do, both on a one-off project and ongoing.
So, much as I hate to do this, my copyediting works on a set hourly fee.
When I work with copywriters on multiple projects a month (and that’s most of them once they see the value I can add to their final draft) then I invoice at the end of the month.
